As curators at the British Library it is our mission to provide access and add value to the vast collections for which we have responsibility.
As a curator with the Americas team, I’m responsible for helping researchers navigate and interpret our wealth of materials about Canada and the Caribbean. The Americas collection encompass early printed books, such as travel logs form the very first Arctic explorations, maps, manuscripts, sound recordings, philatelic items and digital resources.
The challenge for curators is to develop an understanding amongst the research community of the scope and content of our collections, and its relevance to their work.
