The Endangered Archives Programme is now entering its sixth year of funding. As such, a review of the Programme is being undertaken to assess how the original aims and objectives are being met and what improvements can be made for the future.
The Programme is very pleased to confirm that Sarah Tyacke CB, former Keeper of Public Records (UK), is the Reviewing Consultant and she will be contacting all applicants for their views on their experiences. This will take the form of a short questionnaire and we would be most grateful for your cooperation in completing this questionnaire when Sarah contacts you.
In addition, if any other interested parties would like to comment on the Endangered Archives Programme, please send your comments to Sarah at styacke@blueyonder.co.uk, by 8 December 2009.
Please be assured that all comments will be anonymous in the final report. |
Unless action is taken now, much of mankind’s
documentary heritage may vanish - discarded as no longer of relevance
or left to deteriorate beyond recovery. This website explains

Grants may
be awarded to individual researchers to identify collections
that can be preserved for fruitful use. The original archives
will be transferred to a safe archival home in their country
of origin, while copies will be deposited at the British Library
for use by scholars worldwide.

sponsored by Arcadia.
