Professor Dame Helen Wallace is a leading expert on the politics of European integration, on which she has authored and co-authored numerous publications.

Helen was a Centennial Professor in the European Institute at the London School of Economics and Political Science from 2007 to 2010 and an Emeritus Professor in 2010-2013. She is an Honorary Professor at the University of Sussex. Previously she held posts at the European University Institute, the University of Sussex, the Royal Institute of International Affairs, the Civil Service College and UMIST.

In 1996, she was appointed a Chevalier de l'Ordre National du Mérite. She was elected a Fellow of the British Academy in June 2000, and served as its Foreign Secretary and International Vice President from 2011 to 2015. She was awarded Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire (DBE) in the 2011 New Year Honours for services to social science.

Helen is a member of the Board’s Audit Committee.
