Enabling JavaScript in your browser

Most browsers will have JavaScript enabled by default, however, if you need to activate this within your browser please follow these steps:

Internet Explorer

  • From the browser menu, select the settings cog icon, then 'Internet options'
  • In the window that opens, select the second tab 'Security'.
  • Under the heading 'Custom', select the button 'Custom level'.
  • In the window that opens, scroll down towards the bottom of the list to the item 'Scripting'.
  • In the first option 'Active scripting', select the radio button 'Enable'.
  • Select 'OK', then 'OK' again to confirm the settings and close the window.

Firefox

  • From the browser menu bar, select 'Tools' then 'Options'.
  • Select 'Content' from the top menu.
  • On the left-hand side of the window, select 'Enable JavaScript’ checkbox.
  • Select 'OK' to confirm the settings.

Opera

  • Click on the Opera logo at the top left-hand side of the browser window.
  • Select Settings > Privacy and Security.
  • Select 'Enable JavaScript’.

Chrome

  • From the browser menu select the menu 3 dot icon in the top right.
  • Select settings from the menu
  • Click on ‘Advanced Settings’ at the bottom of the menu.
  • Select ‘Content Settings’
  • Select ‘JavaScript’ and ensure the ‘Allowed’ or ‘Allow’ options are selected

Safari

  • Click on the icon at the top right-hand side of the browser window.
  • Select ‘Preferences’ from the top menu.
  • Select ‘Security’ from the tab menu at the top of the window.
  • Select the ‘Enable JavaScript’ checkbox.

Click the cross at the top right-hand side of the window to close it.
