We encourage links to our website. When you create links to the home page or other pages on our website, please use our help page on adding links to the British Library website.
Sound files on this site can be played using Windows Media Player. The quality will vary depending on your connection speed to the internet. Linux users can play Windows Media (.wma) files with MPlayer. Please note that the quality of the sounds on our website does not necessarily reflect the quality of the originals in the British Library. Most videos can be played using Windows Media Player, but some require Adobe Flash.
Some content (such as the Virtual Books) requires Adobe Flash, Shockwave or Microsoft Silverlight for the full experience. Where possible, we offer an HTML alternative, but note that some of the functionality of the original may be lost.
