Information about the cafés and restaurants at the British Library, with opening times.
Home to some of the greatest literary treasures in the world, the British Library also boasts four lovely Peyton & Byrne eateries, from a quick espresso bar to a beautiful restaurant.
Peyton & Byrne offers everything the studious academic or passing visitor could need. Our main attraction – the stunning first-floor King’s Library restaurant – is open from dawn until dusk and serves everything from hearty breakfasts to hot lunches including stone baked pizzas, freshly made salads and afternoon tea from 15.00.
For flying visits there’s also the Short & Sweet espresso bar out on Euston Road. Try the coffee and the hot churros if you’re passing. We serve our own exclusive and exquisite coffee here, freshly roasted and ground on site.
All our baked goods are made fresh every day in our Bermondsey bakery, including seasonal classics such as mine pies and hot cross buns.
