Caring for your treasures

All materials deteriorate. This damage is increased by the effects of light, pollution, poor handling and storage, incorrect temperature and relative humidity, mould and pests. Preventive measures can extend the useful life of paper-based materials and are usually much more cost-effective than treating items after damage has occurred.
