Forward-thinking Fashion
21/05/12

On 11 June we’ll be running the next instalment of our Inspiring Entrepreneurs series. This time we’re partnering with London College of Fashion’s Centre for Fashion Enterprise and DISC programme to support growth fashion businesses.
The topic is ethical and sustainable fashion, with a twist. You can hear from a panel of experts tell their stories about how they have used new technology, business models, branding and marketing to make their own ventures more profitable and environmentally and ethically friendly.
Speakers include:
Christian Smith
Christian is Corporate Responsibility Manager at ASOS and has an MSc in Environment and Sustainable Development from UCL. His work at ASOS includes measurement of greenhouse gas emissions, helping the company to understand where its impacts are and where there is room for improvement.
Mark Bloomfield
Founder of Electrobloom
With experience of designing wearable accessories for brand such as Vivienne Westwood, Matthew Williamson and Asprey, Mark now runs his own jewellery business, Electrobloom. Inspired by how the worlds of nature, art, technology and science collide, he produces unique jewellery designs using 3D printing.
Chair: Melanie Frame
London College of Fashion (DISC)
In her role as ‘Sustainability Manufacturing Developer’, Melanie is part of the DISC project to support fashion manufacturers and designers to innovate their production process. Melanie has been involved in various sustainability projects helping small businesses to set up sustainable and ethical practices.
This event will also be made available as a live webcast.
