Matthew working at the Library
17/05/13

Find out what Matthew, fifteen years old, from Winchmore School thought about his two weeks of work experience at the British Library Business & IP Centre:
"My work experience at the Library was definitely an interesting one. The building is so big I almost got lost a few times but I got my way around it eventually.
There are always so many people of all ages and races in the Library, it amazes me how far people say they have travelled just go get there.
I wanted to work at the British Library because my mum had told me a lot about the exhibitions and seminars they hold.
Also, she told me that they had a Business & IP Centre. I wanted to work there because I love business and making money!
I was placed in the Business Marketing department of the Business & IP Centre and enjoyed myself very much.
Everyone who worked there was nice towards me and kept the office lively. I also work in different parts of the library such as the Business & IP Centre and Humanities reading rooms.
I could see what the other places are used for, how they work and to get to know some of the people who work there.
I found all of it very interesting and I believe I have learnt so much from my time there and if I had the chance, I would definitely want to work there again."
