Many congratulations to two friends of the Centre, Imtaz Khaliq and Foluke Akinlose, who were awarded MBEs in the New Year Honours List.

Couture tailor Imtaz Khaliq is part of our 'success stories' programme; she used the Library's resources when researching and setting up her business.

Foluke Akinlose

Foluke founded Precious magazine in 1999; the online and offline magazine for women of colour. It was the first publication of its kind to launch in the UK.

Precious is a partner of the Library, and we work together to support small businesses. We judged an award at the Precious Awards earlier this year.
