Business & IP Centre success stories at the Olympics

26/07/12

We’re celebrating the unique Olympic involvement of two of our Business & IP Centre success stories.

Michael Korn, inventor of the KwickScreen, who has recently won a place on our free business support programme, Innovating for Growth is an official supplier to the London 2012 Olympics. KwickScreens are portable, retractable room dividers which provide isolation or privacy when needed. They are already used in hospitals across the country and will now be used by medical staff throughout the Olympics.

Swimovate, founded by Lisa Irlam in 2007, produces the hugely successful Poolmate and Poolmate Pro swimming watches. Using a motion sensor and cutting-edge technology, the watches calculate speed and distance as well as providing calorie count and efficiency information.

Swimovate now sponsor Olympic swimmer, Ellie Faulkner, who will be competing in the 200m freestyle relay and the 800m freestyle. The Poolmate helps Ellie achieve a greater understanding of her training progress over time in order to get the most out of each session and improve over time.

Best of luck to all Great Britain athletes!
