Fashion Innovation

19/02/13

This week, Atelier Tammam showed its exclusive 2013 couture collection during London Fashion Week. An annual industry event, it allows fashion designers to display their latest collections to buyers and the media to see the latest trends.

Lucy Tammam, Creative Director of Atelier Tammam, has recently joined our Innovating for Growth programme to access the support and resources to help her put her wholesale collection into production and sell to wider markets.  She is an innovator of Eco-Couture, having spent years researching and developing a unique supply chain in India and Nepal.

Tammam is a traditional couture atelier (fashion studio and showroom) based in the heart of Bloomsbury.  The collection offers luxury couture while focusing on sustainable ethical ethos of making sure the crafts people are nurtured, the fabrics are produced without harming animals and the bridal and occasion gowns are versatile.

Fashion is beginning to grow a conscience with more and more ethical gowns gracing the red carpets to the modern thinking woman’s wardrobe. In recent years celebrities including Natalie Portman, Emma Watson and Livia Firth are taking a cruelty free and green approach to wearing couture.

The British Library will be holding a five day Spring Festival to celebrate fashion design and film on 1- 5 March 2013. Find out about the special events and book your ticket.
