Win The Pitch

29/03/11

Britain’s biggest business pitching contest has now opened for applications, with the winner receiving a grand prize of £50,000 and the title of the UK’s Best New Business.

BusinessZone.co.uk’s The Pitch, founded in 2008, will hold preliminary heats in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The winner from each heat will go on to pitch their business to a panel of expert judges, in front of a live audience. Judges include serial social entrepreneur Karen Darby and Carl Hopkins, star of The Secret Millionaire.

Each heat will comprise a half-day conference and a networking event, providing support and guidance to local business owners.

The competition provides a great opportunity for you to gain presentation experience and feedback, while getting expert advice on your business strategy.

Previous winners of The Pitch have included Anthony Lau, inventor of the Cyclehoop and Business & IP Centre Success Story.

The winner of The Pitch 2010, Ben Atkinson-Willes, founder of Active Minds, comments:

The publicity [the competition] generated for my business was phenomenal and the contacts I’ve made have proved incredibly useful. I would recommend getting involved in the 2011 competition to any entrepreneur.
