Yoomi wins gold
17/04/13
Congratulations to Yoomi who continue to win awards!
The Baby Products Association have awarded Yoomi the Feeding, Cleaning & Changing winner in the Baby and Nursery Trade Awards (BANTA) and Concept & Innovation Awards.
The Concept & Innovation Awards are designed to encourage and reward new product development. The Yoomi bottle is uniquely designed to self-warm a baby bottle to the temperature of breast milk to make life easier for parents.

The Yoomi warmer contains the same gel used in hand warmers which gets activated by simply pressing the orange button. By using a clever ‘phase change’ material (meaning it changes from a liquid to a solid) Yoomi generates heat. The cold feed is gently warmed as it flows through the specially designed channels on the outside of the warmer.
By the time the feed reaches the teat, it is at natural breast milk temperature (32-34˚C). The warmer has been cleverly designed so that it cannot overheat the feed and stays warm for up to an hour.
Jim Shaikh, inventor of the bottle, used the Business & IP Centre's market research collections to investigate the feeding bottle and baby product markets, helping him to develop his business plan. The intellectual property workshops also provided him with information on the different ways an idea can be protected.
He has recently completed the Innovating for Growth programme which helped with his growth strategy which included structuring a marketing and branding plan.
We are holding a series of special events for businesses in the food and drink industry. Whether you have restaurant, catering business, cafe or new food product, 'Cooking up success' will give you the secret ingredients to run an effective food and drink business.
