Squid London - our success story

Fashion graduates Emma-Jayne Parkes and Viviane Jaeger founded SquidLondon, a design company creating innovative products that interact with the elements.

Their first product is the Squidarella, an umbrella that changes colour as it rains. Developing such an innovative product meant that intellectual property - protecting their ideas - was an essential topic to crack. The pair visited the Business & IP Centre to learn more about how intellectual property applied to them.

They also benefited from the support of Striding Out, one of our partner organisations, getting help on everything from business planning to meeting new contacts.
