Celia Gates - our success story

Celia Gates

Celia Gates got her business inspiration from her grandmother, who was suffering from osteoarthritis and struggled to lift saucepans whilst cooking. Celia realised that the application of ergonomics could create a much safer and more comfortable product.

She began to explore the cookware market at the Business & IP Centre, using patent databases to investigate whether her idea was original, and looking at market research reports to understand the size and characteristics of her target market.

The Centre is a hub for entrepreneurs from all industries and Celia found it particularly inspiring to meet like-minded female entrepreneurs at networking events.
