Wiggly Wigglers

Heather founded Wiggly Wigglers on her kitchen table in 1990, and now the Really Rural Store has a £2.5m turnover, selling bird seed, feeders, composters, plants, turf, tools, worms and more to anyone who would like a taste of country life.

The company is passionate about helping people bring a positive and measurable impact to their surroundings however large or small their garden.

Wiggly Wigglers was the UK's Small Business Champion of 2005 and last year won a global award – the Dell Small Business Excellence Award – for its web and social media strategy, which includes a Facebook group and podcasts.

Heather benefited from an advice session with Dame Anita Roddick, through our Ask an Expert programme. She also used the market research at the Centre to investigate her industry and find her niche.
