Richard Woods - our success story

Richard Woods

DIY Kyoto

DIY Kyoto is the brainchild of three young people not prepared to wait for Government to take action on climate change.  To empower the individual, they have developed “wattson”, the energy monitor that shows you how much electricity your home is using, making energy saving easier with a unique coloured light system that speaks to the whole family – wattson glows blue when you save money.

Co-founder Richard has attended various events and workshops organised by the British Library’s Business & IP Centre:

“I heard about a series of seminars for entrepreneurs and booked onto the Oliver King and Anita Roddick events.  We were also chosen for a one-to-one session with Anita Roddick.  It was a very good meeting, with some superb advice.”

DIY Kyoto has received over £1/2m worth of investment and wattson is now in full production with distribution deals around the world.
