Library entrance

The Business & IP Centre is on the first floor of the Library, on the right-hand side of the building, opposite the Social Sciences Reading Room. There are lifts to the first floor but only one is accessible for wheelchair which stops at the Centre level.

How to get to the Library

The Library is located in the heart of London on Euston Road, close to St Pancras International, King's Cross and Euston.

Facilities for visitors with a physical disability

If you need help carrying items to and from your desk, please let staff know.

Wheelchair access

All areas of the Centre are for the main part wheelchair accessible.

The Help Desks in the Reading Room have custom-made lowered sections to enable wheelchair users to access the various services offered.

Facilities for visitors with a hearing impairment

Hearing loops are available in the Centre.

At larger events held in our Conference Centre we can provide BSL interpreters, palentypists, and personal assistants upon request. Please email bipcworkshops@bl.uk for more information.

Alternative formats

Large print and braille versions of our leaflets are available from the Welcome Desk in the Business & IP Centre networking area, and from the Help Desk in the Reading Room.

Assistive technologies

In the Reading Room we provide a range of screen readers and magnification technologies such as Supernova, to help you use our databases and publications.

Assistance dogs

Assistance dogs are welcome and water is available. The RNIB headquarters is opposite the Library, just off Euston Road at 105 Judd Street, London, WC1H 9NE, where there is a dog toilet available.

Alternative formats

We can provide information on our service in alternative formats upon request (you can use the contact details above). Alternative formats can be EasyRead versions of leaflets, mp3 audio files, print on coloured paper in a size or font as required. We will aim to have alternative formats ready at the earliest possible opportunity but be mindful that some formats might take some time to produce, such as EasyRead.
