Monday 12 December 2011
British Library Centre for Conservation
96 Euston Road, London NW1 2DB
Location Details
Many organisations are digitising their collections in order to provide wider access and to ensure the long-term preservation of books and documents. This day has been designed to give an overview of how to set up a digitisation project and how to handle physical library and archive items which are being digitised. By the end of the day participants will be able to:
- describe the factors that need to be considered when sourcing equipment
- recognise whether a physical item is suitable for digitization
- correctly handle materials during digitisation
- identify the issues relating to digital preservation.
