Knowledge for all
Our collections represent the diversity of the world's cultures. We aim to provide access to them through the most advanced methods available. And we believe the knowledge we preserve belongs to everyone. So we're committed to employing people from equally diverse backgrounds.
We aim to be an inclusive organisation that values difference and the benefits it brings. An organisation where we develop and harness the range of talents our people have. From gaining an award for our work to promote diversity in the Library, to acquiring the Disability Confident symbol for our positive steps to recruit those with disabilities, we've proved our commitment to this aim.
But we recognise that we constantly need to review and develop our approach to diversity. So we consult extensively with staff, customers and, most importantly, diverse groups themselves to deliver improvements. From our Disability Action Working Group and internal communication programme about age discrimination, to our initiatives to develop focus groups to drive forward gender and race equality, we're always looking to encourage diversity in our workforce.
