Notes Red sheepskin leather. Probably designed by John Leighton. Blocked in gold and in blind, with an identical design on both covers. The borders and corners have repeating small massed tool patterns, with a tracery of geometric lines - all blocked between fillets which form rectangles on the covers. The centre-piece is blocked in blind, as a diamond shape, with a quatrefoil at the centre. The whole effect is of an imitation of an earlier C16 design. Text copyright Edmund M B King. Book rebound with original cover onlaid as upper doublure.
