Sewell. 3 vol. in one, second edition ofpt. 1 & 3, first edition of pt. 2, minor soiling, half dark blue calf, gilt spine, marbled sides, endpapers and edges, by B. W. Allen of Wakefield (ink pallet on front free endpaper), bit worn, about half the top panel of the spine made good, London, Longman, 1846-48-49 £75 Sadleir 3046 conforms to this copy 'deserves authoritative description, but I have failed to locate first editions of Parts I and IIP; Wolf 6259-62593 has only reprints; RLIN has only American editions (of which there were a lot) or the 1860 reprint. The BL has a first of the first part, a second of the second, and a third of the third. The binder is not in Ramsden, BBTI, Hodson, or the 1885 Kelly.
