Half calf, by [John] Armstrong, Military Road, Chatham, with his ticket (black on yellow) on front pastedown, bit worn and scuffed, the marbled paper on the sides has partly peeled off, revealing the boards used by the binder to be from The Parlour Library [no. 69, 1851], cont. stamp of WJ Jackson in several places, London, Routlcdge, 1856 £40 Armstrong is not in Ramsden or Spawn; BBTI gives his trading dated as 1845-86. Dimensions of binder's ticket: 20x10mm.
