(there is a Nelson ed. of same date), half black calf, bound with another, spine gilt on four broad bands, marbled sides, red sprinkled edges, by Thomas Atkinson of Kendal, with his ticket on rear pastedown, somewhat worn, two sections starting, front inner joint weak, bookplate of Thomas King Atkinson (probably the Capt., 1841-1906; of Morland Hall, Westmorland) partly pasted over, London, Routledge, [Railway Library], 1854 £58 The other book is G. P. R. James, Mary of Burgundy, London, & Belfast, Simms & M'Intyre, [Parlour library no. 38], 1850. Thomas Atkinson, Stricklandgate, Kendal, 1849-1865; all the usual book trades, also druggist & pharmacist (BBTI; not in Ramsden or Spawn). Dimensions of binder's ticket: 19x10mm.
