NotesWith an engraved illustration. A folding sheet. Thomas J. Barratt, who joined A. & F. He used images of children, animals, flowers and beautiful women to promote the message that Pears' soap was safe and healthy and made its users look young and beautiful. He also persuaded prominent skin specialists, such as Mr. John L. Milton, the senior surgeon at St. John's Hospital for the Skin, to recommend the beneficial qualities of the soap
