NotesA sheet folded to resemble a purse with a banknote, dated 1890, sticking out at each end. - Another copy at Evan.172. - Augustus Henry Glossop Harris took over Drury Lane in 1879 and remained there until his death. He specialised in spectacular melodrama and elaborate Christmas shows and was knighted in 1891. Jack and the Beanstalk was the pantomime for the 1889/90 Christmas season. Harry Nicholls and Herbert Campbell were the King and Queen, and Dan Leno played Jack's mother.
