Description: Opening page of Matins: a historiated initial 'D'(omine) with four roundels showing Christ's betrayal at Gethsemane, the flagellation of Christ and Peter's first denial, Peter's second denial and the mocking of Christ, and Peter's third denial and spitting at Christ. Peter weeping in remorse, to right of initial, crowing cocks to left and right. Hybrid creatures above (cropped), decorated bas-de-page border and initial with pen-flourishing.
