Inscription 'Tomas tomas', 16th century, among inscriptions in Latin and Italian, including one referring to Pope Julius [III?] (f. 168v). Inscription 'F. Romilly de Geneve', 18th century (f. 167v). ? Perhaps in the anonymous Catalogue of a Very Valuable Assemblage of MSS … Lately Collected by a Gentleman on the Continent, 20 May 1815, lot 49, bought by Burney for £5 5s. Charles Burney (b. 1757, d. 1817), D.D., classical scholar. Acquired by the British Museum as part of Burney’s library from his son Charles Parr Burney in 1818. |
