The Benedictine abbey of St-Pierre, Corbie, France, 12th century: inscribed 'lib(er) s(ancti) pet(ri) corbeie' (f. 1). The Benedictine abbey of St-Germain-des-Prés, Paris: transferred there in 1638, with a 18th century French note regarding the manuscript’s provenance (f. ir-v), and 'No. 197' (f. 1, lower left corner). ? The abbey of St-Laurence (18th century French note regarding the manuscript’s provenance, f. ir-v). Charles Burney (b. 1757, d. 1817), D.D., classical scholar. Acquired by the British Museum as part of Burney’s library from his son Charles Parr Burney in 1818. |
