Decoration 14 large historiated initials with partial foliate borders, the first with a full foliate border, in colours and gold (ff. 13, 26v, 36, 44, 60, 72v, 81v, 91v, 98v, 109v, 119, 129v, 141, 149v). 13 full-page diagrams, in colours and gold (ff. 15v, 26, 35v, 43v, 59v, 72, 81, 91, 98, 109, 118v, 129, 140v). 2 smaller decorated initials with foliate extensions into the margins, in colours and gold (ff. 16, 164v). Small initials in red with purple pen-flourishing or in blue with red pen-flourishing. Drawing of a human head in the margin (f. 17v).

Binding BM/BL in-house.
Provenance Colophon, written for Giovanni Morosini at Venice in 1388: 'Hoc opus est domini Johannis Maurcoe [Mauroceno?] qui scribi fecit ipsum MoCCCoLXXXVIIJo indictione xja die xxiija mensis junij et in vigilia beati Johannis Baptiste expleuit. Venetijs in contrata S. Canc. [parish of San Canziano?]' (f. 172); probably his heraldic arms erased (f. 13).
Bought by the British Museum from H. Bailheis(?), 14 April 1860 (note on 3rd flyleaf), using the Bridgewater fund (12,000 bequeathed in 1829 by Francis Henry Egerton, 8th Earl of Bridgewater (b. 1756, d. 1829).
