Binding Post-1600. Red morocco, tooled with a gold flower pattern around its edges; marbled end-papers and gilt edges.
Provenance Ralph Palmer II (b. 1668, d. 1745/6), barrister, of Little Chelsea.
Ralph Palmer III (b. 1712, d. 1755), barrister, of Little Chelsea (inscription: ‘Bibliotheca Palmeriana, / Londini, 1747’, f. 1).
Ralph Verney (b. 1714, d. 1791), second Earl Verney, politician, Palmer’s cousin (book-plate removed from inside front cover).

Charles Burney (b. 1757, d. 1817), D.D., classical scholar.
Acquired by the British Museum as part of Burney’s library from his son Charles Parr Burney in 1818.
Notes ff. 107 and 108 watermarked with an image of Britannia? in an oval medallion topped by a crown.
