Erased inscription, f. 54v.
Added lines of Hildebert, bishop of Le Mans's epigram of Lucretia's last words in Latin in between the last quarter of the 16th century and the first quarter of the 17th century humanistic cursive book script, f. 55.
Willibald Pirckheimer (b. 1470, d. 1530), humanist, councillor of Nuremberg, and diplomat (inscription, f. 1).
Purchased with the Pirckheimer library from Hanns Hieronymus Imhoff by Howard in 1636.
Thomas Howard (b. 1585, d. 1646), 2nd earl of Arundel, 4th earl of Surrey, and 1st earl of Norfolk, art collector and politician.
Henry Howard (b. 1628, d. 1684), 6th duke of Norfolk, presented to the Royal Society in 1667.
The Royal Society, London (its ink stamp: 'Soc. Reg. Lond. / ex dono HENR. HOWARD / Norfolciensis', f. 1; its bookplate, f. 54**v).
Purchased by the British Museum from the Royal Society together with 549 other Arundel manuscripts in 1831.
Notes f. 55 is a parchment flyleaf with a Latin inscription, and an epigram in humanistic script.
