Decoration 1 large miniature in colours and gold, with an illuminated initial and a full trompe l'oeil border, at the beginning of the text (f. 11). 'Champ' initial in gold on blue and rose grounds with penwork decoration in white and foliate marginal extensions. Paraphs in gold on blue and rose grounds with penwork decoration in white. Line-fillers in blue, rose and gold with penwork decoration in white.

Provenance ?Shelfmark of a very large number in brown ink (Carley's 'Old Large Number') 86' (first unfoliated medieval parchment flyleaf at the beginning).
The Old Royal Library (the English royal library): included in the catalogue of 1666, Royal Appendix 71, f. 13v.
Top edge damaged by water and fire, probably in the fire of 1731, at Ashburnham House.
Presented to the British Museum by George II in 1757 as part of the Old Royal Library.
Notes Contains Les anciennes chroniques de Flanders to 1347, preceded by a list of contents (1-10), referred to a foliation in red starting on f. 11.
