Provenance The Benedictine priory of Saint-Martin-des-Champs, Paris: contains the chronicle of this priory, charters related to its re-founding by Henri I of France and the maintenance of its privileges by Philip I of France.
Jean-Baptiste-Anne-Geneviève Gagnare Joursanvault, baron of Joursanvault (b. 1748, d. 1742), book collector, historian and engraver: his transcription of the 11th-century portion, with the title, 'Cronique de l'Abbaye Royale de Saint-Martin-des-Champs, fondée à Paris, don’t un original cy joint, faisant partie du chartrier de M[onsieu]r le B[ar]on de Joursanvault et porté au numéro de son inventaire, a été par lui transcript pour en faciliter la lecture' and his arms (f. 10); listed in his catalogue as no. 5 (see Catalogue analytique (1838)).
Jacques-Jospeh Téchener (b. 1802, d. 1873), Parisian bookseller: recipient of Auguste de Bastard d'Estang's letter (ff. 1-2v).
Auguste de Bastard d'Estang (b. 1792, d. 1883), historian, archaeologist, bibliophile, lithographer: his letter (14 January 1839) to Jacques-Joseph Téchener explaining the damage that he caused to the manuscript and offering compensation to Téchener; he specifies that he consulted on Téchener's advice 'M[onsieu]r Champollion-Figeac', probably Jacques-Joseph Champollion-Figeac (b. 1778, d. 1867), philologist archaeologist, paleographer and curator at the Bibliothèque nationale de France (ff. 1-2v).
