Artist related to the Guise Master recently rebaptized Master of Guy de Laval (ff. 13, 18v, 113v, 117, 122, 127, 133, 137v). Artist perhaps related to one hand in Oxford, Bodleian Library, MS. Douce 144 (ff. 199, 204v). |

12 calendar roundels, in the top right-hand corner of each page (ff. 1-12). 24 full-page miniatures, accompanied by large decorated initials, in colours and gold (ff. 13, 14v, 16v, 18v, 25, 45, 55v, 61v, 68v, 72v, 79, 84, 100v, 113v, 117, 122, 127, 133, 137v, 141v, 150, 156v, 199, 200); 1 miniature missing after f. 109 for Lauds in the Hours of the Passion. Full borders on every page with pen rinceaux in red, blue and gold, some with painted acanthus, and dragons. Smaller decorated initials, in colours and gold. Small initials and line-fillers in gold on red and blue grounds. |

Unidentified member of the Gayaud family: inscribed 'Le xvie daougst 1565 decedda maitre Guille Gayaud chan de Poictuier mon oncle auquel dun face pardon par sa saincte grace'; 'On moys daougst 1577 decedda maitre Jacques Gayaud a Bourgaunin mon for(?)'; 'On moys de mars 1578 ...(?) decedda mon cousin maitre Martial Gayaud a Paris' (3rd flyleaf [f. v]).
Dame Busserand, married to Martial Gayaud (d. 1578), cousin of the unidentified member fo the Gayaud family (see above); given to Roatin (see below).
Charles Roatin, second husband of Dame Busserand; given to Guyvreau in 1598 (see below).
Yves Guyvreau (d. 1618), canon of Notre-Dame de Poitiers, 1598: inscribed 'Nota que en lan 1598 Maitre Charles Roatin (...) me donna et feit present des presentes heures quil avoit heues de dame Busseran sa femme en secondes nopces qui avoit en premieres nopces espouse feu Maitre Martial Gayauld (...)' (2nd flyleaf verso [f. iv verso]); given to Denesde in 1618.
Jacques Denesde (d. 1622), canon of Notre-Dame de Poitiers: inscribed 'Lan 1618 deceda le susdit maitre Yves Guyvreau qui donna ces presentes heures a Maitre Jacques Desnede (...) lequel deceda lan 1622 le 13 mai (...)' (2nd flyleaf verso [f. iv verso]).
Louise Coustiere, married to a Denesde (see Dictionnaire historique, biographique et généalogique des familles de l'ancien Poitou, dir. Beauchet-Filleau, II, under 'Coustiere, Louise'), gave it to her brother, François Coustiere, canon of Notre-Dame de Poitiers: inscribed '(...) les presentes heures me furent donnees par ma soeur decedee Louise Coustiere (...)' (2nd flyleaf verso [f. iv verso]).
Family Denesde, 17th and 18th century: inscription giving dates and names of several members of the family (2nd flyleaf verso [f. iv verso]: Anthoine Denesde, nephew of François Coustiere; François Denesde, canon of Notre Dame and son of Anthoine Denesde; André Denesde, doctor of medicine of the University of Poitiers, brother of François Denesde; Jacques Denesde, doctor of theology, archdeacon and provost of the cathedral of Poitiers, son of the preceding.
François Paul de Neuville de Villeroy (d. 1731), vicar general of the diocese of Poitiers and archibishop of Lyon, nominated 1 October 1714 (see Hierarchia Catholica medii et recentioris aevi, V: 1667-1730, 1952, p. 249), a relative to Jacques Denesde: mentioned as the owner of the manuscript (2nd flyleaf verso [f. iv verso]).
Charles Sylvain Gaudon, advocate in Chatillon-sur-Indre; acquired the manuscript from his brother, Joseph Gaudon?; given to his son (see below).
Michel Frédéric Alexis Gaudon, advocate, 1 Septemer 1805: inscribed 'Ce livre m'a été donné par maitre Charles Silvain Gaudon pere avocat à Chatillon sur Indre, mon pere, le 1er septembre 1805 (...) je l'ai fait relier par M. Chevrier à Poitiers dans le mois de novembre (...)' (3rd flyleaf [f. v]); given to his son (see below).
Frédéric Gaudon, 15 November 1805 ('24 Brumaire an 14'): inscription saying that he received the manuscript from his father on the condition that it should be kept in the family (3rd flyleaf [f. v]).
Léon Gruel, book-binder and bookdealer, and his father-in-law, the printer Robert Engelmann: their book-plate with the number '563' (inside upper cover [f. i]).
