Decoration 24 small miniatures with the labour of the month and the zodiacal signs, arranged like partial borders, in colours and gold, at the beginning of each month (ff. 1*-12). 10 full-page miniatures, accompanied by large decorated initials, the first in a historiated frame, the others with full foliate borders, in colours and gold, for major text divisions (ff. 13, 35v, 37, 38v, 44v, 49, 53v, 58, 62, 68); 1 miniature at the beginning of the Hours of the Dead missing (after f. 96). 1 large historiated initial with a full foliate border, in colours and gold, for Lauds in the Hours of the Virgin (f. 24). All text pages with partial foliate borders, in colours and gold. Smaller and small initials and line-fillers in gold on red and blue grounds.

Purchased as part of the Sloane collection from Sloane's executors and incorporated into the newly founded British Museum in 1753.
