Decoration 1 small miniature, accompanied by a full foliate border including human heads, 2 medaillons in the corners of the lower margin and a bas-de-page scene (f. 7). 7 large historiated initials, accompanied by three-sided foliate borders, in colours and gold (ff. 16, 22, 27v, 33v, 40v, 47, 54). Smaller initials in gold on red and blue grounds, developing three-sided foliate borders into the margins. A few initials in blue with red foliate pen-flourishing, for prayers at the end (ff. 72v-75). Small initials in plain red or blue.

Binding Post-1600. Speckled brown leather.
Provenance William Petty (formerly Fitzmaurice) (b. 1737, d. 1805), 2nd earl of Shelburne and 1st marquess of Lansdowne, prime minister; purchased by the British Museum together with 1244 other Lansdowne manuscripts in 1807.
