This photograph shows four Indian soldiers convalescing at a hospital in Brighton. The hospital treated Indian troops who had returned wounded to the UK from fighting in France. The soldiers' injuries are described in the typewritten note under the photograph, and include fractured limbs from bullets and shell explosions. It is notable how young these men are.
