Hail, king, Hail! Patriotic anthem

The cover of this piece of music is decorated with the national personification of Italy, Italia turrita: a young woman characterised by a crown made from a castle, hence turrita or with towers. The figure wears the coat of arms of the Italian royal family, the Savoia. She holds the Italian flag and crushes underfoot, victoriously, a double-headed eagle. This represents the coat of arms of the Augsburg dynasty, which formerly dominated the cities of Trento and Trieste.
