Instructions for making a ration warmer

During the war, groups were created to produce supplies for soldiers, such as socks, sweaters, ski masks, gas masks and gifts. These are instructions for a scaldarancio, or ration warmer – a roll of paper soaked in paraffin that, when lit, was used by soldiers in the trenches to heat their food. The leaflet explains to Italian citizens how to create such an object and where to send it once made.
