Following the introduction of powered lithographic printing presses, advertisers increasingly turned to lithography as a cheap and imaginative printing process. Many examples, from chromolithographed circus and music hall posters to smaller, but still eye-catching, commercial advertisements, are found in the collection of ephemera formed by the conjuror, Henry Evans Evanion, acquired by the British Library in 1895.
