Two completely
different versions of this action-packed tale of highwaymen, Scottish
Jacobites and Red Indians survive, the other written by Percy St.
John in about 1885. The plain monthly wrappers are early examples
of their use for advertising purposes: one text illustration by
the prolific penny dreadful illustrator, Robert Prowse, is chosen
for each number, providing a unifying identification for the buyer.
