Wild boars
  Photographically Illustrated Books

This Talbotype (Talbot's family and friends suggested that his name should be reflected in his invention) photograph was produced by Nicholas Henneman, assistant to William Henry Fox Talbot. Stirling-Maxwell's work is reputed to be the first published photographically illustrated book to contain photographs of original paintings and engravings of art. The image shown is a photograph of an engraving by P. Perete for Origen y dignidad de la Caša: por Juan Mateos, Ballestero principal de Su Magd., Madrid, 1634.
