This album,
containing 44 photographs by members of the Photographic Club, was
printed by Charles Whittingham. The image shown is one of many photographs
of the Crimean War by Roger Fenton, a vice-president of the club.
The photographic wagon, which he used in Yorkshire while producing
landscape photographs and later in the Crimea, was originally a
wine merchant's van converted into a portable darkroom, with chemicals,
glass plates and camera equipment.
