to bookbindings in the Victorian era, especially for luxury books
such as this, which were available in a range of bindings in different
colours and materials.This is one of two volumes by William and
Mary Howitt in which photographs by Francis Bedford, Russell Sedgefield,
Roger Fenton, and others are incorporated into the layout of the
text.
