First Digital Lives Research Conference: Personal Digital Archives for the 21st Century
Participation and Registration
Views and thoughts will be sought throughout the three days, during which we shall be conducting research-oriented interviews, and where permission is granted these will be recorded and will join the Library’s collections at the end of the research. Archivists and curators and related professionals who have not already contributed to one of the questionnaires will be asked to complete one.
Registration procedures
It is necessary for everyone who wants to attend Day 2 to register (with the exception of Conference Speakers). Days 1 and 3 are an integral part of the research programme of the Digital Lives project, and therefore participants will be invited according to their professional interests and experience. It is anticipated that many of the participants invited to Days 1 or 3 will also be attending Day 2, and will have come to our attention upon registering for Day 2.
There is no registration fee for either Day 1 or Day 3. People attending Day 2 will be asked to pay a registration fee of £35 UK following initial confirmation of registration and the sending of an invitation.
Tea, coffee, juices, water and biscuits will be supplied at regular intervals throughout the three days. Lunches will also be provided.
The registration fee is waived for all Conference Speakers, Session Chairs, International Participants (provided that travel bookings are confirmed) and Students (provided that student status and travel bookings are confirmed). The possibility of waiving the fee for people working in web services and related professions will be considered at the discretion of the programme organisers.

Important note on registration deadline
There is no predetermined registration deadline. However, registration for each day will close as soon as the total number of available places are taken and confirmed. Batches of invitations will be sent out from time to time. A number of people have already confirmed.
In the case of international colleagues we shall endeavour to make invitation decisions quickly. This makes it all the more important that potential participants within the United Kingdom register as soon as possible so that we are aware of their interest.

Space will be available for displaying posters and demos.
