An early thirteenth-century Low Countries booklist
Andrew G. Watson
Abstract
IN British Library MS. Harley 2720, a copy of the Thebaid of Statius, at the bottom righthand corner of fol. 85, the last page of the text, is a list of twenty-four or twenty-five titles of books or shorter works and four items associated with writing (wax, a seal, etc.). To identify the items referred to is for the most part not difficult, and although one cannot be completely certain about its origin it is probable that it comes from the Liege area of east Belgium.
