Eccles Centre 6th form conferences

Since 2002 the Eccles Centre has hosted an annual conference for A-Level students and others interested in U.S. politics. Speakers have included Gordon Corera (BBC), and Tim Hames (The Times) (2002); U.S. Congressmen Lou Frey (R-FL) and Larry LaRocco (D-ID) (2003); Congressmen Jack Buechner (R-MO) and Dennis Hertel (D-MI) (2004), U.S. Congresswoman Beverly Byron (D-MD) and U.S. Congressman Ron Sarasin (R-CT) (2005), U.S. Congressmen Lou Frey (R-FL) and Tom Downey (D-NY) (2006), U.S. Congresswomen Sue Kelly (R-NY) and Barbara Kennelly (D-CT) (2007), U.S. Congressmen Richard T. Schulze (R-PA) and George J. Hochbrueckner (D-NY) (2008), U.S. Congressman M. Robert "Bob" Carr (D-MI) and former U.S. Congresswoman Ambassador Constance A. Morella (R-MD) (2009), former US Congressmen Jim Kolbe (R-AZ) and David Minge (D-MN) (2010), and former US Congressmen Scott Klug (R,WI) Richard Stallings (D-ID) (2011), in addition to other academics and commentators from the UK and the US.

The visiting Congressmen are part of the Congress to Campus programme.
