Since 2002 the Eccles Centre has hosted an annual conference for A-Level students and others interested in U.S. politics. Speakers have included Gordon Corera (BBC), and Tim Hames (The Times) (2002); U.S. Congressmen Lou Frey (R-FL) and Larry LaRocco (D-ID) (2003); Congressmen Jack Buechner (R-MO) and Dennis Hertel (D-MI) (2004), U.S. Congresswoman Beverly Byron (D-MD) and U.S. Congressman Ron Sarasin (R-CT) (2005), U.S. Congressmen Lou Frey (R-FL) and Tom Downey (D-NY) (2006), U.S. Congresswomen Sue Kelly (R-NY) and Barbara Kennelly (D-CT) (2007), U.S. Congressmen Richard T. Schulze (R-PA) and George J. Hochbrueckner (D-NY) (2008), U.S. Congressman M. Robert "Bob" Carr (D-MI) and former U.S. Congresswoman Ambassador Constance A. Morella (R-MD) (2009) in addition to other academics and commentators from the UK and the U.S.
The visiting Congressmen are part of the Congress to Campus programme. The conferences take place with the generous support of the U.S. Embassy.
