American National Biography Online Profiles over 18,000 men and women from all eras and all walks of life who helped shape American history and culture.
Artists of the World Online Presents biographical information on approximately 270,000 artists, based on articles in the major printed biographical works by Thieme & Becker and by Vollmer, plus all articles from the published volumes of the Allgemeines Künstlerlexikon.
Biography and Genealogy Master Index (BGMI) A comprehensive index to nearly 12 million biographical sketches in more than 2700 volumes and editions of current and retrospective reference books, covering both contemporary and historical figures throughout the world.

Covers the period 1680-1830. Projected five CDROM databases that will cover all known book subscription lists; all national, town and trade directories through to 1830; all society membership lists. Geographical coverage is the UK and USA.
British Biographical Archive The digitised version of the K. G. Saur's British Biographical Archive (Series 1 and 2) is accessible via the World Biographical Information System.
British Book Trade Index Searchable index of people involved with printing and book trade in England and Wales from the 1470s to 1851. Each entry gives brief biographical information and cites bibliographical references and archival sources.
Contemporary Authors Gives biographical details for over 100,000 modern writers. Writers covered include: novelists, poets, playwrights, non-fiction writers, journalists, scriptwriters. Also some photojournalists, syndicated cartoonists, and graphic novelists. Writers in languages other than English are also covered provided that their works have been published in the U.S. or translated into English.

Credo Reference Credo Reference is an online reference library that provides access to a large number of encyclopedias, dictionaries, thesauri and other reference books. Subjects covered include art, biography, history, literature, music, religion, and science and technology.
Dictionary of National Biography (DNB) Contains over 40,000 biographical articles on British figures.
The text of the original DNB is also included in the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography.

Literature Online A fully searchable library of more than 200,000 works of English and American poetry, drama and prose, plus biographies, bibliographies, secondary sources and web links.
Literature Resource Center Provides access to biographies, bibliographies, and critical analysis of authors from every age and literary discipline. Covers more than 90,000 novelists, poets, essayists, journalists, and other writers, with in-depth coverage of 2,000 of the most-studied authors.
Oxford Dictionary of National Biography An illustrated collection of 50,000 specially written biographies of the men and women who shaped all aspects of Britain's past, from the fourth century BC to the year 2000, with 10,000 portrait illustrations. Updated three times a year. The online Oxford DNB also includes the entire text of the first DNB.
The people behind the news headlines
An online biographical dictionary of British or Irish journalists who died between 1800 and 1960. Also included are a small number of journalists who, although not born in Britain or Ireland, spent a significant proportion of their career in the British Isles.
Who's Who and Who Was Who Online version of the most recent edition of the British Who's Who together with the complete Who Was Who archive, which contains biographical information for all the people, now deceased, included in previous editions of Who's Who, which was first published in 1849.
World Biographical Dictionary of Artists See Artists of the World Online
World Biographical Information System Formerly known as World Biographical Index, the World Biographical Information System is an index to the Saur biographical archives. Microfiche editions of some of the archives containing the complete texts of the biographical descriptions are available from the Reference Enquiry Desk in the Humanities Reading Room. The digitised version of the British Biographical Archive (Series 1 and 2) is accessible via WBIS Online.

Brief description
Antique Map Price Record This regularly-updated catalog of antiquarian map sales contains price records back to 1982, with bibliographic descriptions, information on suppliers, condition reports, and links to digitised versions where available. Contents reflect the merging of two resources: Antique Map Price Record and, in 2012.

Bavarian State Library Catalogue Contains records held by the Bavarian State Library. Subject coverage spans the Humanities and sciences.

Bodleian Library Catalogue Library catalogue covering the majority of the library collections of the University of Oxford, including the Bodleian Libraries, most College and other libraries affiliated to the University.

Book Sales Catalogues of the Dutch Republic An index to the comprehensive and ongoing re-publication on microfiche of Dutch book sales catalogues from 1599 to 1800.

British Library Map Library Catalogue A catalogue of the Library's cartographic resources to 1997. Information on more recent material and on accessing the cartographic collections can be obtained from the Map Library.
EROMM The European Register of Microform Masters (EROMM) contains microform records covering mainly printed works from all periods and languages from many European countries, from North America and Latin America. It also includes those from the British Library’s Register of Preservation Surrogates.
Heritage of the Printed Book Database Compiled by the Consortium of European Research Libraries (CERL), the Heritage of the Printed Book Database is a union catalogue of European printing from the 15th century to the middle of the 19th century.
SCIPIO International union catalogue listing sale catalogues held in libraries world-wide, but with a strong American emphasis. The sale catalogues described relate primarily to sales of books and art works at auction throughout Europe and North America from the late 16th century to the present day.
WorldCat OCLC WorldCat is a union catalogue created and maintained collectively by more than 9,000 member institutions in more than 80 countries worldwide, and contains over 50 million online records for material in many different formats. Resources in WorldCat represent hundreds of languages and cultures.

An electronic version of the works published over a period of three hundred years by the Société des Bollandistes (work in progress).
Archivum Secretum Vaticanum, Registra Vaticana Registra Vaticana (Reg. Vat. 1-523), contains the texts of papal bulls and letters from John VIII (872-882) to Pius II (1458-1464). The registers reproduced belong to one of the largest and most commonly consulted series in the Vatican Archives Registers and consist of digital image reproductions of the manuscript registers of papal letters housed in the Archivio Segreto Vaticano.
ATLA Religion Database An index to journal articles, book reviews, and collections of essays in all scholarly fields of religion, featuring articles written in 36 languages. 1949- .
Australian records in the USPG archive Records relating to the Society for the Propagation of the Gospel's activities in Australia. The records are mainly from the mid 19th century and cover the development of the Church of Australia.
The Bible in English Contains 21 different versions of The Bible. In addition to 13 complete Bibles, there are 5 texts that comprise just the New Testament, 2 that contain just the Gospels, and Tyndale's translation of the Pentateuch, Jonah, and the New Testament.
British Online Archives Digitised papers and finding aids from more than 25 collections. Subjects include British industrial, scientific, social, political and ecclesiastical history. There are also collections relating to the slave trade and Britain's colonial history.
British records on the Atlantic World, 1700- 1900 Included as part of British Online Archives, this 11 part series documents the colonial, missionary and commercial history of British activities in the Atlantic and Caribbean. Many of the collections provide original documents on Britain's role in the slave trade.
Cetedoc Library of Christian Latin Texts (CLCLT) Full-text database of Latin texts from the Western Christian tradition. The database is a project of the Centre de Traitement Electronique des Documents at the Catholic University of Louvain.
In Principio Incipit index to Latin texts, from the pre-Classical to the late Medieval periods.
Iter Bibliography Covers all literature pertaining to the Middle Ages and Renaissance (400-1700). Citations for journal articles, reviews, review articles, bibliographies, catalogues, abstracts and discographies are included. Also included are citations for monographs, and material published in monographs and collections of essays.
King James Bible The King James Version is an English translation of the Holy Bible, commissioned for the benefit of the Church of England at the behest of King James I of England and first published in 1611.
New Zealand and Polynesian records in the USPG archive Records from the 19th and 20th century, showing the activities of the Society for the Propagation of the Gospel, and the development of the diocesan structure in New Zealand.
Oxford Reference Online (Premium Collection) Over 100 specialist and general reference dictionaries covering a wide range of subjects. Includes The Oxford Companion to the Bible and other works on the Bible, on Christianity and on other religions.
Past Masters This full text database includes the works and/or correspondence of a number of writers including Anselm, Augustine, Calvin, Kierkegaard, Knox, Luther and Newman.

Patrologia Latina

An electronic version of the first edition of Jacques-Paul Migne's Patrologia Latina, published between 1844 and 1855, and the four volumes of indexes published between 1862 and 1865.

Wesleyan-Methodist periodicals Reproductions of The Arminian magazine (1778-1797), The Methodist magazine (1798-1821) and The Wesleyan-Methodist magazine (1822-1897). The collection also includes the published minutes of Methodist conferences, and an index to the periodicals.

Classical Studies

Brief description
L'Année philologique Indexes and abstracts of articles in the field of Classical studies published in periodicals, collections and conference proceedings. Coverage extends from 1959 onwards.
Bibliotheca Teubneriana Latina The BTL online database provides electronic access to all editions of texts published in the Bibliotheca Teubneriana Latina, ranging from the classical period to medieval and neo-Latin texts.
Byzantinische Bibliographie Byzantinische Bibliographie cumulates the annual bibliographies published in the Byzantinische Zeitschrift from volume 98 (2005) onwards. It contains around 30,000 entries in total, with about 4,000 new entries added each year. Users can browse the bibliography by subject or search by keyword, author, publication type, publication year, publisher or  ISBN/ISSN.
Iter Italicum Lists previously uncatalogued or incompletely catalogued Renaissance humanistic manuscripts found in libraries and collections all over the world. Originally published in six volumes between 1963 and 1992.
Oxford Classical Dictionary An electronic full-text version of the Oxford Classical Dictionary, 3rd edition, 1996. Over 6,000 entries on the ancient Greek and Roman worlds.
Oxford Reference Online (Premium Collection) Over 100 specialist and general reference dictionaries covering a wide range of subjects. Includes the Oxford companion to Classical literature, Who's who in the Classical world, and other works.

Thesaurus linguae Latinae

The Thesaurus linguae Latinae is the largest Latin dictionary in the world and the the first to cover all the Latin texts from the classical period to about 600 A.D. The database contains all the content that is currently available in print.
